What will the world be like in 2027, 2047, 2087? What kind of machines do we need to invent to make the world a better place for our children? When you look back at the end of your life, what will you consider your best moments and your biggest mistakes? What is the future of schools?

These questions were examined by 150 teens between the ages of 10 and 17 at secondary schools in Moers and Neukirchen-Vluyn. Together with Barbara Grubenbecher, Robert Hüttinger and Holger Runge, the students probed their visions of the future through theatre educational activities and games as well as questionnaires and research.

The resulting theatrical future scenarios were captured by photographer Bettina Engel-Albustin. In addition, some of the teens developed their own photo stories that oscillate between utopia and dystopia.

These pictures and future stories will be on display during WESTWIND in the exhibition "Faces of Future" at Kunstverein Peschkenhaus
