Westwind: "A summit meeting" - Four production discussions

Moderation: Birte Werner

The selection committee has deemed the 10 festival productions exceptional. Can we thus say that they stand out against the children?s and youth theatre landscape as "lone summits"? Can we use them as landmarks - points of reference that allow us to determine our own positions? Are they solitary? Do they form a mountain range? What direction are they leading us? During the festival, visitors will have four opportunities to exchange thoughts and ideas on what they have seen with fellow guests and colleagues.

Registration requested at: westwind@schlostheater-moers.de

Dr. phil. Birte Werner is the performing arts programme director at the cultural education academy Bundesakademie für Kulturelle Bildung Wolfenbüttel.

She develops workshops, forums and conventions for professionals who work in the areas of theatre, dance and film. She serves as a curator for the national youth dance competition "Tanztreffen der Jugend" and is a jury member for several festivals: most recently for "Hart am Wind" (2016), and currently for "BestOff" (2018).

At the moment, she is particularly interested in investigating new theatre forms, narrative styles and participatory opportunities that arise out of the symbiosis of theatre and (computer) games as well as the potential impact of political theatre in this area.
